You know the whole STEM to STEAM movement? We’re completely on board. For students to be prepared for the ever-evolving job market and the needs of society tomorrow (and the day after that, and the day after that), STEM initiatives that immerse them in science, technology, engineering, and math are crucial. But so is layering in creativity and innovation. Enter STEAM.
We talk a lot about STEAM here at Concordia University-Portland, especially, of course, within our MEd in Curriculum & Instruction: STEAM (STEM + Arts) program. It’s a topic that will never cease to be important to us, and we love when others get excited about the possibilities of integrating the arts into the classroom—which is why we are ecstatic to offer this giveaway; it’s the reason you’re reading this, right?! Let’s do this.
Here’s the scoop: The Online Teaching Conference for Arts Integration & STEAM, provided by EducationCloset, is being held online on July 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET. Featuring 20+ speakers—including keynote guest, bestselling novelist Jodi Picoult—the event is for K-12 classroom and arts educators interested in tips, resources, and ideas for bringing the arts into their lessons. You can join in on your laptop, desktop, tablet, or phone.
What you could win: A ticket! We have five registration passes (actual retail value of each: $119) that include live and lifetime on-demand access to all the sessions, downloadable handouts, and a personalized certificate when you finish watching. Five tickets, five winners, one ticket each. Interested?
How to enter: Head over to our Facebook page and look for the post about this promotion. To enter, comment with an answer to one of the questions on the post (don’t worry, they’re not hard). We’ll randomly draw and announce winners on Thursday, July 13—giving you plenty of time to find your headphones and log in to the conference on July 20, should you snag a ticket.
Check out the official rules here. Good luck, educators!
