I am looking to obtain a Master’s in Educational Administration (supervisor). I read another comment that states this program does not include certification. If I go through Concordia and obtain my Master’s in Educational Leadership, what would I then have to do to become certified so that I may obtain a position as an English Supervisor (I currently teach English at the secondary level).

    • admissions says:

Priscila, Each state has different requirements. Please check with the Department of Education for your state to confirm requirements. Thank you.

I have BS degrees in biology and agriculture and a BA in chemistry. My background is in wastewater treatment and environmental compliance with a class A wastewater treatment license in Missouri. I have seven years experience teaching at the junior college level in water, wastewater treatment and environmental education. I also have a tech school 2 year certificate in horticulture. I am looking to the future and see the green industries and sustainability to be very significant in all our lives. I don’t want to get to stuck in the public policy arena but feel I am a good environmental educator. I desire flexibility as well as credibility and the ability to do my part to enlighten others as well as update my own perspective to current technologies and trends. I have heard of environmental compliance Master’s but these degrees seem to be bent towards a legal background. Is the CU Environmental Education concentration something which is likely to open more doors for me or provide focus in a more narrow scope? What career opportunities have your graduates have taken? Can those alumni be contacted in any way for their advice?

    • admissions says:

Mary, Thank you for your passion and dedication towards improving the environment! Click here: Environmental Education overview. Careers of graduates include: Higher education instructor, consultant in teaching environmental education, lobbyist, department chair for environmental education, curriculum director for environmental education, etc., just to name a few career opportunities that are available! This cutting-edge Master’s was recently introduced based on need and demand; if your interested you may be able to speak with a student currently enrolled in this program or a professor! Thank you.

How can I combine Educational Leadership course with Curriculum & Instruction? I would like the administrative certification.

    • admin says:

Our program has been approved for the Educational Leadership Licensure Track in NJ. You would need to complete the Ed Leadership Master’s program first (including the Action Research Project) and then enroll in the C & I concentration of your choice & complete the 4 courses for that choice (not including the Action Research course). Our enrollment specialists can provide you with more information about this program as well as discounts that may be applicable for teachers from certain school districts in NJ.
