I have a BA and have worked with adults teaching ESL in a Community College in Oregon as well as EFL in Mexico. Right now I’m an Instructional Assistant in a ESL classroom. Does the M.Ed. with ESOL covers everything to get a recommendation from you to obtain a teacher license from TSPC? I’m interested on the online option.

It looks like the ELearning-Technology Education degree is more for those who want to be an online teacher and less of how to use technology effectively in a traditional classroom. This is what I get from looking at the additional classes needed for that degree. Is that correct?

    • admissions says:

Michael, All courses are based on ISTE (International Society for Technology Education). iNACOL (International Association for K-12 Online Learning) recommendations and the National Standards of Quality for Online Courses. The types of technology which are reviewed in this program can be used in the classroom or as an online teacher, these technologies include: An exploration of digital natives and then moves into a study of a variety of LMS’s (Learning management systems) and CMS’s (Content Management Systems). Video games are explored as learning tools. The course also covers Podcast, Vodcast, Virtual field trip using GoogleEarth or VoiceThread, Skype, narrated PowerPoints, Screenr, and WebQuests. Googledocs and Scribd are used as supports for learning. The course also includes a study of online integrity. Thank you.
